Taught American History and American Government for 35 years

My wife Donna and I share four children, seven grandchildren, and four English bulldogs.

Why I am running:

Even though I have lived in other communities, Oak Ridge is my hometown and my love for Oak Ridge is my reason to run and if elected, my desire is to do anything I can to help improve the quality of life for the citizens of Oak Ridge. I have always had an interest in government at the national, state, and local levels. As a teacher of American Government and the United States Constitution for 35 years, I challenged my students to understand and be a part of the government process. I now want to use that same challenge as an elected official to be a part of that process as an Oak Ridge City Council member.

What I want to accomplish:

I intend to spend as much time as possible between now and election day on November 3, talking to as many citizens as I can to find out what issues are most important to them. Once I determine what issues are most important to them, then they will become the most important issues to me. If elected, I will bring forth those issues to the entire City Council.
